Throughout the Chiasso Means Noise festival 27.03-29.03 Radio Chhhh will air a sound program on the political and aesthetic meaning of noise. The lineup includes conversations with sound artists, field recordings, sonic pieces from Gaza and Lebanon, live performances, and live broadcasts of the festival’s evening events. Instead of sound following what we see, Systems of Noise reverses this relationship—inviting listeners to construct visual landscapes through auditory experience. Recorded using contact microphones, the piece captures the hidden vibrations of urban systems—transport, water, infrastructure, and everyday movement. By layering and shaping these recordings, the piece reveals the connections and tensions between these systems. It encourages a critical reflection on how urban structures interact. Noise, often dismissed as a byproduct of city life, becomes a way to uncover these relationships and imagine new possibilities for the spaces we inhabit.
